I recently had the privilege of moderating a Lunch & Learn at the FIFSW (University of Toronto) featuring OISE Graduate students – and fellow Singaporeans turned friends – Carolyn Oei and Marc Nair, authors of The Good Gang: Stories from Tak Takut Kids Club.

The session brought together graduate students and faculty from across UofT to explore themes of social mobility through the stories of children in a community-based kids club in Singapore.

The conversation also invited reflections on how storytelling can function as research that centers the voices of children—voices that are often sidelined.
